More than three decades ago, a young entrepreneur with a passion for photography took a leap-of-faith when, in 1992 he launched a free monthly community newspaper in Phoenix, north of Durban.

Rishaad Mahomed’s unshakable determination and passion for newspapers drove the transformation from a single monthly publication to a fleet of weeklies, with a circulation of over 500,000 copies weekly and over 2 million readers, entrenching Tabloid Newspapers as the largest independently owned community newspaper publishing group in South Africa.

Mr. Mahomed’s commitment to fostering genuine relationships and delivering effective advertising solutions has earned the unwavering loyalty of advertisers and readers of his various publications. Mr Mahomed is a founding member of the Association of Independent Publishers (AIP) and Chairperson of Capro Ltd, a position he has held for almost 2 decades.

From in-house printing to distribution, Tabloid Newspapers has grown in leaps and bounds to become a force to be reckoned with, in the newspaper publishing industry.

November 2021 saw the launch of two new brands -Tabloid IV and Media Master, the group’s Digital Printing Division. Two Konica Minolta flagship production presses, that offer high definition quality printing at twice the speed and resolution of any other digital printer, were installed and Media Master was born.

Top quality business cards, brochures , glossy menus, magazines, catalogues, pamphlets, banners, books and much more can now be printed in half the turn-around time of traditional printers.
